UCL: Inter secures a narrow 1-0 win against Arsenal, increasing the strain on Arteta

Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty kick and Inter Milan’s strong defense secured a tight 1-0 win over Arsenal in the Champions League.

This victory strengthens Inter’s lead in their group and keeps their impressive streak of not allowing any goals in the tournament.

The game started with intensity, as Inter nearly scored early on when Denzel Dumfries’ powerful shot hit the crossbar.

Calhanoglu also took a shot from far out, and Mehdi Taremi almost assisted Lautaro Martinez, but Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard intercepted just in time.

The turning point came when Calhanoglu’s free kick hit Arsenal’s Mikel Merino’s raised arm in the box, resulting in a penalty.

Calhanoglu calmly scored, handing Arsenal their first goal against them in this Champions League season.

Arsenal tried hard to equalize, with Dumfries clearing a Bukayo Saka corner and Yann Sommer stopping a curving shot from Kai Havertz.

Inter’s defense held strong, with Bisseck blocking another attempt from Havertz just in time.

Arsenal’s last chance came in stoppage time, but Nwaneri’s shot went over the bar.

With this win, Inter now has 10 points and continues their perfect defensive record in the Champions League.
