Toyin Abraham’s ‘Alakada: Bad and Boujee’ grosses N134 million within a week
Renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi is celebrating the remarkable success of her latest film, Alakada: Bad and Boujee, which earned an astounding ₦134 million within just seven days of its release.
Taking to Instagram on December 27, Toyin shared her gratitude with heartfelt appreciation for God, her fans, and everyone who has supported her journey.
The impressive box office numbers, announced earlier by the movie’s distributor, left Toyin deeply moved. Reflecting on her growth, she wrote:
“God of my journey, thank You. I am beyond grateful for surpassing my previous record. I am my own competition! Last year, I made ₦52M in seven days; this year, ₦134M in the same timeframe—a 157.69% increase. Lord, I am that woman who returns to give thanks.”
Toyin also extended a special message of appreciation to her fans:
“To everyone who has watched Alakada: Bad and Boujee, thank you for standing by me. Despite the odds, you made me proud and brought immense joy to my heart. Ẹṣé gan ó. Mo dúpé.”
Known for her determination and resilience, the actress reflected on the challenges she has faced in the competitive Nollywood landscape. She expressed gratitude to cinemas that supported her work while addressing others who seemed to hinder her efforts:
