Senate prepares to pay tribute to the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah
The Senate is preparing to hold a valedictory session in honor of the late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
His casket, now lying in state at the foyer of the White House wing within the National Assembly Complex, serves as a somber focal point for today’s proceedings. The session’s sole agenda, listed as “Valedictory Session,” underscores the gravity of the occasion.
As the plenary begins, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele (APC – Ekiti Central) will present a motion to formally pay tribute to the late senator, stating:
“That the Senate do now pay tributes in honour of late Senator Ubah, Patrick Ifeanyi (Anambra South) (3rd September, 1971 – 26th July, 2024).”
Family members, close friends, and political dignitaries from Anambra and across the South-East have gathered in the chamber to participate in this heartfelt tribute.
It is worth recalling that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah passed away in London on July 27, 2024, at the age of 52.
