Rema Reveals How Fake People Shaped His Latest Music Release

Superstar Afrobeats singer Divine Ikubor, known as Rema, spoke about the presence of ‘fake people’ in the Nigerian music industry and how it influenced his music.

He shared this during the listening party for his second album, ‘He Is,’ held in Lagos on Thursday night.

The artist, famous for his hit ‘Another Banger,’ said that the industry’s fake nature inspired his song ‘Now I Know’ on the album.

He explained:

“There are many fake people in the music industry. When people say, ‘I love this guy,’ it’s genuine, not just for attention. They’ve found someone real in an industry full of both fake and real people. That’s the message of ‘Now I Know.’ Now I know who’s truly there for me. Those I loved have become enemies. Now I know who’s really by my side. Those I trusted have turned against me.”

Rema’s 11-track album, released on Thursday through Mavin Records, includes features from Shallipopi and Odumodublvck.
