Reasons You Should Stop Checking Your Partner’s Phone – Yhemolee
Popular media figure Idowu Adeyemi, better known as Yhemolee, has advised couples to avoid checking their partner’s phones in an effort to prevent trust issues and misunderstandings, particularly around cheating. He believes this habit can cause more harm than good in a relationship.
Yhemolee, who recently married his longtime girlfriend, Thayour B, shared his concerns about the emotional risks involved when couples snoop through each other’s phones. According to him, this practice can lead to emotional distress or even more severe outcomes.
In a video message posted on his Instagram, Yhemolee explained how this issue has affected someone close to him. He used his friend’s situation to highlight the dangers of invading a partner’s privacy.
He revealed that a friend called him early in the morning, sharing that his fiancée was in the hospital after struggling to breathe. Yhemolee asked if she had any serious health conditions, but the friend said no—her distress was caused by checking his phone overnight.
Yhemolee then cautioned his audience, warning that looking through a partner’s phone could have devastating effects. “If you keep searching for things you don’t want to see, the emotional toll might be unbearable. The person who caused the pain will move on, while you’re left dealing with the consequences,” he noted.
He concluded by sharing that his friend admitted if his fiancée continued checking his phone thoroughly, she would likely be traumatized by what she found, and even if she survived the initial shock, the memories would haunt her forever.
