Portable Claims Fela Passed Away Early Due to Lack of Focus on Personal Affairs

Controversial singer Portable stirred up conversation when he suggested that the legendary Afrobeats musician Fela Kuti contributed to his own death by not staying out of other people’s business.

In an interview on the “Echoo Room” podcast with Quincy Jonze, Portable claimed that Fela’s early death happened because he got involved in issues outside of his personal life instead of focusing on himself.

Portable’s remarks caused quite a stir on social media, with many people reacting to his bold opinion about the beloved artist.

He said, “Based on what we were told, Fela would have lived longer if he had just minded his own business. But he was busy fighting for Nigerians who didn’t even fight for themselves.”

Portable also shared about his time in the U.S., saying, “I was in America trying to connect with foreign artists, showing off my craziness online, when Davido called me. Me and Davido didn’t have any issues until Zlatan, who I see as a devil, got involved.”
