Peter Obi’s Strategy for a Better Society through Health and Education
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, emphasized his dedication to improving the nation by focusing on critical areas like health and education. He believes that investing in these sectors is essential for the country’s future and societal well-being.
On Monday, Obi visited Grimard College of Nursing Sciences in Anyigba, Kogi State, where he donated N10 million to support nurse training. He highlighted that nurses are crucial to primary healthcare in the nation.
Obi pointed out that Nigeria remains underdeveloped because it hasn’t invested enough in health, education, and poverty reduction. This lack of investment has led to serious issues like insecurity and other socio-economic problems.
He has consistently urged all levels of government and donor agencies to invest more in health and education. Obi stressed that investing in children’s futures benefits society and the nation as a whole.
Speaking to the nursing students, Obi praised their noble profession, emphasizing the importance of training more nurses due to the global shortage. He encouraged proactive investment in their training to meet domestic needs and contribute to the global community.
Obi expressed gratitude to the College’s Proprietor, Bishop Anthony Ademu Adaji, and the staff for their dedication to training skilled healthcare professionals.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to building a new Nigeria that provides quality healthcare and educational opportunities, stating that it is possible.
