Olori Naomi Hospitalized After Ibadan Stampede Arrest

Olori Naomi, the former queen of the Ooni of Ife, was hospitalized after being arrested in connection with a stampede at her charity event in Ibadan. The event, which was supposed to be for 5,000 children, ended up attracting more than 7,500 attendees, causing chaos. The overcrowding led to the tragic deaths of 35 children and left six others injured.

After the incident, Naomi was arrested but collapsed on Friday. She and Oriyomi Hamzat, an Ibadan-based broadcaster who helped organize the event, were taken to the Police Hospital in Eleyele for treatment.

A hospital official confirmed their admission but could not provide more details due to police security around the area. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is now overseeing the investigation into what caused the deadly stampede.

The tragedy has sparked public outrage, and authorities are working to uncover what led to the incident.
