NSCDC Deploys 1000 Personnel to Kebbi for Protest Response
With less than 48 hours remaining before a nationwide protest against poor governance in Nigeria, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kebbi State, CC Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa, announced that 1,000 personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of critical infrastructure and citizens during the event.
Alkamawa stressed that while Nigerians have the right to engage in peaceful protests, the NSCDC will not tolerate any breakdown of law and order.
He made it clear that maintaining peace and security is a priority, and the corps is prepared to address any disruptions that may arise.
The state Civil Defence chief highlighted that the NSCDC is working in coordination with other agencies to manage the protest effectively.
He urged protest leaders to provide detailed information about the assembly points, routes, and the expected duration of the protest to facilitate smooth operations.
Alkamawa also issued a stern warning to those intending to infiltrate the protest and engage in violence or vandalism. He emphasized that the corps is fully equipped and ready to take professional measures against anyone trying to damage public infrastructure or loot shops.
Alkamawa reassured the public that the NSCDC is committed to preventing any violent incidents and ensuring the protest remains peaceful. He stressed the corps’ readiness to handle any threats to public safety and maintain order throughout the protest.
