NECO 2024 Examination Results Released for Unity Schools

The Federal Government has announced the results of the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admissions into JSS1 of the Federal Unity Colleges.

Dr. Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Education, shared the results at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday. He mentioned that the highest score achieved in the exam was 203.

Out of the 71,291 students who registered for the exam, 66,931 took the test, while 4,360 were absent. One student scored the highest mark of 203 out of 210, while 13 students scored the lowest mark of 1.

This year, 52 students, including two from Lagos State and 50 from Rivers State, were caught cheating during the exam.

For the Federal Government Academy (FGA) exam, 2,649 students registered, 2,336 took the exam, and 313 were absent. The highest score for this exam was 180, and the lowest was 5.

Dr. Sununu explained that the admission criteria for Federal Unity Colleges remain unchanged: 60% based on merit, 30% based on state equality, and 10% based on other factors.

He urged the Senior Secondary Education Department to ensure that the admissions process is completed on time and follows these criteria.

Dr. Sununu reassured parents that the government is committed to improving infrastructure, food, and teacher quality in Federal Unity Colleges.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the NCEE was held on June 1, 2024, in Nigeria, Benin Republic, and Togo.
