NDLEA Arrests Intending Pilgrims With Illicit Drugs in Lagos Ahead of Hajj 2024

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested two intending pilgrims.

On Wednesday, June 5, the suspects were apprehended in the Oshodi area of Lagos state. The suspects, en route to the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, were arrested with 20 pallets of cocaine weighing 1.10 kg.

This was disclosed by the federal law enforcement agency via its X handle (formerly Twitter), @ndlea_nigeria,on Thursday, June 6th.

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brigadier General MB Marwa (Rtd), has issued a warning, stating their determination to pursue and apprehend suspects who exploit pilgrimages for drug trafficking purposes.
