Modrić urges confidence in Mbappé despite his recent goal drought
Luka Modrić, a seasoned player for Real Madrid, has shown support for teammate Kylian Mbappé, who has had difficulty replicating his Paris Saint-Germain form since joining the club.
Though Mbappé has scored eight goals in 15 matches, he’s been struggling with finishing, as seen in Madrid’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna, where he missed several opportunities.
This issue has also appeared in previous games, both domestically and internationally. However, Modrić remains confident in Mbappé, stating, “Don’t doubt Mbappé. He will be a huge asset for us in the future and will prove why he has been, and still is, one of the best players in the world.”
Real Madrid’s win over Osasuna was largely thanks to Vinicius Junior, who scored a hat-trick, leading the team to a crucial victory following their Champions League loss to AC Milan earlier in the week.
This win brings Madrid to within six points of La Liga leaders Barcelona, who face Real Sociedad on Sunday, with a chance to extend their lead to nine points again.
