MasterCard dedicates $2 million to the digital card project
Mastercard has invested $2.04 million in a partnership with Wowzi, Africa’s leading influencer marketing platform, and Masria Digital Payments (MDP). This collaboration aims to revolutionize financial management for content creators by introducing innovative digital card solutions.
Over the next five years, this initiative will give Wowzi’s content creators access to various benefits through digital cards. These cards, developed with MDP’s digital payment expertise, are designed to provide a smooth and secure experience for both online and offline transactions.
Mike Otieno, co-founder and President of Wowzi, emphasized that their mission is to support content creators, who are central to the digital age. He highlighted that the partnership with Mastercard and MDP is a significant step in empowering these creators.
Otieno explained that innovation is key to their values, and they recognize that influencers and creators often lack adequate payment solutions. This partnership aims to meet those needs by setting new standards for financial empowerment, security, and convenience.
Mastercard stated that the new digital cards will include features like watch cards and ring cards, combining convenience, security, and style. The collaboration is expected to provide content creators with the financial tools and security they need to succeed, promoting a more vibrant and sustainable ecosystem for them globally.
