Kano Governor Orders Immediate Demolition of Nasarawa Mini Palace After Court Ruling
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano has ordered the immediate demolition of the Nasarawa mini palace, which houses the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero. The governor, through the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Dederi, announced plans for the palace’s renovation and reconstruction.
This decision comes just hours after the Federal High Court in Kano nullified the deposition of Emir Bayero. At a press conference, Dederi explained that the government had finalized arrangements for the renovation, including fixing the dilapidated wall fence.
According to TVC, this development follows Justice Abdullahi Liman’s ruling, which validated the Kano Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024 but declared all actions Governor Yusuf took based on this law null and void. Justice Liman ordered all parties to maintain the status quo and granted a stay of proceedings pending the appeal, transferring the case to Federal High Court 3.
