Kanayo Sheds Light on Hidden Relationships Among Male Actors
Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, speaks openly about the increase in ‘unnatural relationships’ between male actors and criticizes the desperation of untalented female newcomers.
On Nedu Wazobia’s popular podcast, ‘The Honest Bunch,’ Kanayo revealed some hidden aspects of Nollywood, shedding light on secretive practices that have stalled the industry’s progress.
Kanayo discussed his long-term goals, expressing his wish to continue having a successful career even at the age of 90.
He candidly addressed the issue of homosexuality among male actors and producers in the film industry.
In the interview, he said, “Do you know most actors are on drugs? For men, those who have unnatural… when I mean unnatural, in law, it means when man dey sleep with man,”
Kanayo also expressed concern about the influx of inexperienced young women into Nollywood, who have gained entry through dubious means.
He criticized the trend of talentless individuals getting roles through methods like “sex-for-role,” emphasizing that acting is a skill that requires genuine talent and cannot be achieved through shortcuts or manipulation.
