Isak Scores Late to Secure Newcastle’s 2-1 Victory Over Tottenham
Newcastle United extended their unbeaten streak in the Premier League with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at St James’ Park.
Taking advantage of Tottenham’s missed opportunities, Newcastle secured the win with a crucial goal from Alexander Isak.
Newcastle took the lead in the first half, when Lloyd Kelly made a strong run down the left side and crossed the ball into the box. Harvey Barnes met it perfectly, volleying the ball into the far corner of the net.
Despite efforts from Tottenham, managed by Ange Postecoglou, they struggled to create clear scoring chances. Their best opportunity came when Pape Matar Sarr forced Newcastle’s goalkeeper, Nick Pope, to make a save with a long-range shot.
In the second half, Postecoglou made some changes to Tottenham’s attack, bringing on Brennan Johnson. Spurs managed to level the score after Dan Burn accidentally scored an own goal, but Isak’s late strike secured the win for Newcastle.
