Ice Prince reveals he couldn’t go to university due to a lack of N20,000

Ice Prince, the singer, recently opened up about the difficulties he faced after losing his parents at a young age. He shared his experience of how he lost his university admission due to financial struggles.

During an appearance on the ‘Listen’ podcast, Ice Prince talked about his tough childhood as an orphan. He revealed that his father died when he was just 11 years old, and his mother passed away when he was around 21.

To support himself through school, Ice Prince took on various low-paying jobs. However, paying school fees was always a challenge, and there were times when he couldn’t attend school for weeks at a time because he couldn’t afford it.

He explained: “I grew up without parents, and I’m an only child. It was really hard. My father passed away when I was 11, and my mother died when I was around 21 or 22. I have a big family that depends on me, but I don’t have any uncles, aunts, or godparents to rely on. It’s been just God in my life.

“I want people to see my story and understand that if I can succeed, then no one should have an excuse for failure.”

He also shared how he had to stay home for weeks every term because of unpaid school fees and how he missed out on university admission because he couldn’t raise the N20,000 needed to secure it.
