D’banj – How My Mum Arranged For my Wedding at My Dad’s Birthday Party

Famous singer Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known as D’banj, recently shared a touching story about how his mother arranged his marriage at his father’s birthday party. This story came to light during an interview on TVC’s show ‘Your View,’ where D’banj talked about his unique wedding experience.

During the interview, D’banj explained how he managed to avoid scandals when getting married, which is often challenging for celebrities. He recounted an event at his father’s birthday celebration, where his mother played a pivotal role in setting up his marriage.

At the party, his mother asked him to bring his girlfriend to meet the family and inquired about his thoughts on marriage. D’banj, however, wasn’t ready for marriage at the time because he had dreams of having a grand wedding.

To his astonishment, his mother had secretly planned a wedding ceremony for him at his father’s birthday party. During the celebration, they were surprised with a ‘Happy Wedding’ cake, making the occasion even more special.

D’banj expressed deep gratitude to his mother for her thoughtful and unexpected planning. He appreciated her foresight, especially considering the difficulties that often accompany marriages in the celebrity world.

In His Word, D’banj Said:

“My mother planned everything. She told me don’t worry, this is what we are going to do, so my dad’s birthday is July 2nd, so we were going to celebrate his birthday.

“She told me to bring the girl I was dating so they could all see her and questioned if I would marry her. I told her I wasn’t ready, that I wanted to do a big thing. She told me I would definitely do a big wedding, but first, I should bring her for Daddy’s birthday.

“As we finished Daddy’s birthday, they rolled Daddy’s cake and brought out ‘Happy Wedding’. My brother, D’Prince, was there, and he also was as surprised as I was. And till today, I thank her every day of how so far ahead she saw it and how I see social media stories”.
