Ghanaian Chef Smith Tearfully Apologizes for Forging Guinness World Record Certificate
Ghanaian Chef Smith has issued a heartfelt apology, kneeling and tearfully seeking forgiveness from Ghanaians after admitting to falsifying his Guinness World Record certificate. Earlier, he had proudly announced his achievement and displayed a counterfeit certificate, which was later exposed as a hoax.
Guinness World Records confirmed that the genuine record holder is Alan Fisher from Ireland, who achieved the feat in Japan in 2023.
In a poignant interview with GHOne TV, Chef Smith expressed deep remorse, stating that his actions were driven by desperation and a desire to survive. He humbly begged for forgiveness, acknowledging that his actions had brought shame to the nation.
His assistant, Leticia Martekie Sankah, also publicly apologized for her role in the incident. She took full responsibility for her involvement and expressed regret for unwittingly supporting a fraudulent claim.
