Former Senate President Lawan calls for unity and tolerance during Christmas

Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, the President of the 9th Senate, has emphasized the importance of unity and tolerance for the country’s progress.
In his Christmas message to Nigerians, he acknowledged that despite the challenges the nation is facing, the holiday season is a perfect opportunity to come together and work toward a better future.
Lawan expressed his warm greetings to Nigerians, especially to the Christian community, as they celebrate the birth of Christ. He highlighted that Christmas is a time for joy, love, giving, and reflection on peace, unity, and tolerance.
He pointed out that this Christmas comes at a time when the country is facing economic difficulties, and urged everyone to unite, setting aside religious and ethnic differences, to work for a brighter future for all.
Lawan also reminded Nigerians of the teachings of Jesus Christ, which focus on love, compassion, and forgiveness. He encouraged people to treat others with dignity and respect, as Jesus did, and to build a society where everyone feels valued.
He stressed that tolerance and understanding are key for the nation’s growth and urged citizens to respect and celebrate the diversity that makes Nigeria unique. Unity, according to Lawan, is essential for the success of any nation, and when Nigerians stand together, they are stronger and better able to overcome challenges.
Lawan also called on Nigerians to remember the less fortunate during this festive period, share their blessings, and practice charity. He emphasized that helping others not only improves their lives but also enriches our own.
Finally, he encouraged Nigerians to use this season for self-reflection, strive to be better citizens, and work toward a more peaceful, prosperous, and fair future. He wished for the season to bring unity, reconciliation, and hope to all.
