Eniola Badmus Faces Backlash for Sharing Video of President Tinubu’s Dinner Amid Economic Hardship#

Actress Eniola Badmus has consistently supported President Bola Tinubu before and after the 2023 elections. Recently, she shared a video of the president dining with members of the 10th House of Representatives, which sparked controversy among netizens.

In the video, the politicians, including Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, were seen at Aso Rock Villa, engaging in light conversation and taking their seats in a well-organized dining hall. Plates and bottled water were set on the tables, indicating a formal dinner setting.

However, many Nigerians took to social media to express their frustration, reminding Badmus of the economic challenges faced by the country. They felt the display of a lavish dinner was insensitive given the current hardship.

Comments on the post varied widely:
– @bayshee_kuti: “Hunger de fire in dis country. And u guys re there dining with our future.”
– @bigpsamy22: “Will this dinner reduce the cost of things in the market?”
– @iam_shevy: “I blame Nigerians for using their little hard-earned money to go to cinemas to watch you guys’ movies. By the time we start saying no to your nonsense movies, you guys will know what is right.”
– @jennychinweajib: “Eniola Badmus, do you even have a conscience at all? People are dying of hunger and starvation in Nigeria and you have the heart to post this.”

While some users offered support, most comments criticized the perceived insensitivity of sharing such a video during tough economic times. Eniola Badmus has yet to respond to the backlash.
