#EdoDecides2024: Davido Addresses Police Instructions for Voters
Nigerian musician Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has responded to a police message directed at voters in Edo State.
According to GistReel, over 2.6 million eligible voters in Edo’s 18 local government areas were expected to vote in the state’s gubernatorial election.
The police advised voters to return home immediately after voting. Frank Mba, the deputy inspector general of police overseeing election security, issued this directive during an interview with Channels Television. He also announced that vehicle movement would be restricted in the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day.
Mba emphasized that anyone not accredited for the election should stay off the streets, urging voters to cast their ballots and then head home.
However, Davido, who supports the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), disagreed with this directive. Reacting on his X (formerly Twitter) account, he responded to the video with the comment, “Lol, go where?”
