Chelsea Prepares Formal Bid for Napoli’s Star Striker Victor Osimhen
Chelsea is reportedly getting ready to make their first official offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to Football Italia.
Osimhen has been available for transfer throughout the summer, despite playing a crucial role in Napoli’s recent championship win.
The Nigerian striker, who helped Napoli win their first Serie A title in over 30 years and ended the season as the league’s top scorer, is no longer a priority for Antonio Conte at the Stadio Maradona.
Napoli added a significant €130 million release clause to Osimhen’s contract during last year’s renegotiation, but they’ve had difficulty finding a buyer willing to meet this price.
Although Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) initially showed interest, they haven’t made a formal offer.
Osimhen has also been hesitant about Napoli accepting a €70 million bid from the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that while PSG is still interested, Chelsea is determined to outbid them.
The exact amount Chelsea plans to offer isn’t known yet, but the club is also considering bringing in Brentford forward Ivan Toney.
