Burna Boy says he now has more money than 90% of the people he once admired
Afrobeats star Burna Boy recently shared his thoughts on his journey to success, expressing pride in his achievements and explaining why he never looks down on others.
In an Instagram Story, the Nigerian musician reflected on his path to wealth, recalling how, in his younger years, only politicians, oil tycoons, and people involved in fraud (often called “Yahoo boys”) were seen as wealthy.
Growing up in Port Harcourt with humble beginnings, Burna Boy noted how much things have changed, saying he now has more money than 90% of those he once admired as “moneymakers.”
Using his own story as an example, he encouraged his fans never to underestimate anyone’s potential. He reflected, “Growing up, the only people with real money were politicians, oil moguls, and scammers. Music wasn’t even considered a way to make money back then.
“Now, a dark-skinned musician from Port Harcourt has more money than 90% of those I used to look up to for wealth. That’s why I never write anyone off because anyone, even the young ones, could become the next Elon Musk and share the same message tomorrow,” he wrote.
