Burna Boy Explains His Decision to Distance Himself from Nationwide Protest

Afrobeats star Burna Boy has explained why he’s not joining the current nationwide protests.

On the social media platform X, Burna Boy responded to a video from the October 2020 EndSars protests where his song was played, and protesters asked for it to be removed.

Burna Boy said that this incident made him lose interest in the fight and that he would curse anyone who brought his name into the protests.

He wrote: “The fight in me ended on that day. Anyone who uses my name now will face trouble.”

In another post, he criticized politicians, saying he’s never received anything from them. He added: “No politician has ever given me anything. Ask Wike if he gave me any land or money. Do you think I’m your favorite? 😂”
