Atiku Confident in Resolving Internal Crises in Katsina PDP

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has stated that the upcoming party congresses will address and resolve the ongoing internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State.

During a press briefing in Katsina on Saturday, Abubakar mentioned that he was there to offer his condolences to the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, following the death of his son, Abdullah Abdulmumini.

He also expressed his condolences to the family of the former Governor of the old Kaduna State, late Alhaji Lawal Kaita, on the passing of his widow, Hajiya Yelwa Lawal-Kaita.

Abubakar visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his home in Daura and extended his sympathies to the family of the late Alhaji Sade, father of Lawal Dade, the Managing Director of NNPC Trading Limited.

Additionally, he met with the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouq, to offer condolences over Sade’s death.

Regarding the internal conflicts that have split the party into two factions, Atiku commented, “There will be congresses soon, allowing people to choose their party leaders.”

This situation stems from a dispute between a group called the ‘PDP major stakeholders’ and the state caretaker committee over the sale of congress forms. The group claimed they were blocked from purchasing the forms, while the state caretaker committee has remained silent despite multiple attempts to get their response on the matter.
