Asake has reportedly left YBNL, ending his partnership with Olamide

Reports are swirling on social media about Afrobeats sensation Asake’s departure from YBNL and his split with label boss Olamide.
The buzz began after fans noticed that Asake unfollowed Olamide on Instagram, removed YBNL from his bio, and deleted all his posts. Entertainment blogger Cutie Juls revealed that Asake’s contract with YBNL had expired, and although Olamide offered a renewal, the singer declined.
Allegedly, Olamide made considerable efforts to convince Asake to sign the new agreement, but the talks reportedly ended with Asake walking away, choosing to pursue an independent path instead.
Cutie Juls shared, “Asake leaves YBNL and parts ways with OLAMIDE. Insiders confirm that Asake declined to renew his contract after it expired. Despite Olamide’s persistent attempts, Asake opted for independence, walking out of negotiations two weeks ago.”
The post also hinted at the possibility of reconciliation, but as things stand, Olamide is reportedly scouting for fresh talent.
Asake joined YBNL in 2022, rising to fame with his chart-topping single “Sungba” and achieving major milestones, including selling out the O2 Arena twice.
