Asake and Rema feature on Obama’s 2024 playlist

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has shared his highly anticipated playlist for 2024, showcasing his favorite music picks. Posted on his official X account, the playlist features a wide range of artists and genres, with Nigerian stars Rema and Asake standing out.

Rema’s popular track “Yayo” earned a spot, highlighting his international success and the growing popularity of Afrobeats. Asake’s collaboration with American rapper Travis Scott on the song “Active” was also included.

Other notable songs on Obama’s playlist include tracks by global stars like Billie Eilish (“Lunch”), Beyoncé (“Texas Hold ‘Em”), and Kendrick Lamar (“Squabble Up”). The playlist also reflects Obama’s diverse music taste, with selections from both new and established artists like Fontaines D.C., Moses Sumney, and Leon Bridges.

Since 2015, Obama has made it a tradition to share an annual playlist, giving fans a personal look at his musical interests while celebrating global talent.
