APC Chieftain Reveals Alleged Billion-Dollar Theft Under Buhari
Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former House of Representatives member for Egor/Ikpoba-Okha in Edo State, has made some serious allegations.
He claims that a group within President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration misused billions of dollars during their time in office.
Agbonayinma also stated that the current difficulties in Nigeria won’t affect the APC’s chances in the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo State.
In an interview with Vanguard, Agbonayinma, who is also known as EJ, said President Bola Tinubu is not to blame for the hardships Nigerians are facing. He argues that the real issue is deep-rooted corruption, which has long plagued the country.
He explained, “Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu is not responsible for our current troubles. We are our own problem. Corruption has deeply infected Nigeria, and fighting it is a constant struggle. Corruption existed before Tinubu, before Buhari, and even before Obasanjo.
“To tackle corruption effectively, it needs the combined effort of all patriotic Nigerians. While corruption exists globally, Nigeria’s situation is particularly severe. In other countries, corrupt individuals are prosecuted, but in Nigeria, they are often celebrated. When money meant for public infrastructure is stolen, it hampers future progress.
“When people complained about the PDP’s impact on the country, they hoped for change. Today, despite the challenges, look at what President Tinubu has done: he’s invested in infrastructure, revamped the Abuja-Benin road, and improved the Nigerian railway system. Buhari’s administration saw a lot of money misused, but progress is being made now.
Asked about the APC’s readiness for the September 21 election, Agbonayinma said, “The APC is more prepared than ever. The people of Edo State have experienced poor leadership and neglect in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and roads. They are ready for change.”
