Anthony Joshua Moves to New Mansion Ahead of Showdown with Daniel Dubois
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has recently transitioned from his mother’s flat in north London to a new mansion. The 2012 Olympic champion, who has accumulated nearly £100 million, explained that he stayed with his mother, Yeta, to ensure her well-being before moving out. Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Joshua shared:
“I didn’t want to leave my mom alone. I wanted to ensure her foundations were solid—the nest was strong—so that when I leave, she’s well. For me, that’s freedom. It’s knowing that no matter where I am in the world, mom is happy and well taken care of.”
Joshua is preparing to fight fellow Brit Daniel Dubois on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London for the IBF championship. This match comes after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the IBF title. Dubois, who defeated Filip Hrgovic to become the interim IBF champion, now aims to dethrone Joshua. Usyk, who made history by defeating Tyson Fury last month and holding the IBF, WBO, WBA, and WBC belts, vacated the IBF title due to not meeting the organization’s mandatory defense requirements against Dubois.
