After two straight losses, Ancelotti voices his concern for Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, voiced concern following their 3-1 Champions League defeat to AC Milan—a second straight loss for the team.
This stumble leaves the defending champions with a win rate of just 50% in their group-stage matches, intensifying the challenge of securing a spot in the last 16.
In a post-match interview, Ancelotti openly discussed the team’s recent difficulties, admitting, “We have reason to be concerned because the team hasn’t been performing well lately.”
“We lack defensive solidity…there’s a need for more cohesion and organization,” he added, highlighting a need for tighter defensive unity.
Ancelotti also clarified that midfielder Federico Valverde was subbed off at halftime due to back discomfort rather than a strategic shift. “Valverde wasn’t fully fit. He trained fine yesterday, but experienced pain during the first half, so we chose to take him off.”
With just four days until their next critical match against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid finds itself under increasing pressure to recover its form.
