The TV doesn’t stand a chance when my son is upset – Bovi

Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi Ugbomma has shared that his son tends to break televisions when he gets angry, even though Bovi promotes gentle parenting.

During an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast with Nedu, Bovi explained that he does not believe in parents physically disciplining their children and used his own parenting experience to illustrate his point.

He revealed that his son went through a phase of breaking things out of anger but eventually grew out of it and started feeling regretful for his actions.

Bovi encouraged parents to allow their children to learn from their mistakes rather than resorting to beating them. He said, “I don’t support hitting kids. You should let them be. My son Chuchu would break TVs out of frustration. He’s smashed three so far. Thankfully, I could afford to replace them. If I couldn’t, my approach might have been different.”

However, this stance sparked criticism from many Nigerians, who accused Bovi of promoting violence and not teaching his son emotional control.
