Lamine Yamal’s agent confirms his commitment to a long-term Barcelona contract
At just 17 years old, Lamine Yamal has already become an important player for Barcelona and is expected to sign a long-term contract with the club.
Barcelona fans can relax knowing that this young star is staying at Camp Nou for the foreseeable future. Speaking at the Golden Boy Awards in Turin, Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, confirmed his plans to renew his deal with the team.
“Of course, he will renew with Barcelona. Lamine is a big fan of the club,” Mendes stated, putting to rest any doubts about the player’s future.
Yamal is currently recovering from an ankle sprain that will keep him off the field for three to four weeks, meaning he will miss Barca’s upcoming game against Atletico Madrid. However, Mendes assured fans that the injury isn’t serious, saying, “He’ll recover soon and be back to normal.”
Yamal’s current contract, which ends in 2026, is limited to three years because he’s under 18. When he turns 18 next summer, he’s expected to sign a six-year contract that includes a massive €1 billion release clause—a deal that’s reportedly already agreed upon in principle.
