Pastor Tobi Adegboyega denies rumors of being deported
Nigerian Pastor Tobi Adegboyega has denied rumors that he is about to be deported from the UK. His church, Salvation Proclaimer Ministries, now known as Nation Family, is currently facing accusations of financial misconduct. He clarified the situation in an interview with the BBC on Friday.
The pastor stated that the ongoing court case regarding his church’s financial issues is still unresolved. He emphasized that the claims about his deportation are completely false.
Adegboyega explained that he first arrived in the UK in 2005 at the age of 25 on a visitor’s visa. He assumed his family was handling the necessary immigration paperwork on his behalf. Over time, he lost track of the situation and did not keep up with his visa status.
He also mentioned that if he were to be deported, it would be impossible to relocate his church to Nigeria, given the circumstances. This shows the difficulty of such a move and how it would affect the church’s operations.
Earlier, the UK Charity Commission investigated the church and found “serious misconduct and/or mismanagement” in its administration. However, Pastor Adegboyega dismissed these findings as untrue and baseless.
Pastor Adegboyega rejected the accusations against him and his church, insisting that the claims about his deportation and financial mismanagement are false. He continues to face the ongoing legal case, but remains confident in clearing his name.
