Tinubu hosts German President Steinmeier
On Wednesday morning, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. Steinmeier had arrived in Abuja the previous evening and immediately met with President Tinubu.
The German Embassy had announced in a statement on Monday that Steinmeier’s visit would include meetings with Tinubu and Dr. Alieu Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission.
After his meetings in Abuja, Steinmeier is scheduled to travel to Lagos. In Lagos, he will engage with business representatives, aiming to strengthen ties between Germany and Nigeria.
Steinmeier will also visit a start-up hub and meet with key figures in Nigeria’s cultural and civil society sectors, such as Dr. Nike Okundaye and Prof. Wole Soyinka.
