FG vows to provide maximum food security to citizens facing economic hardship
The Federal Government has reassured Nigerians of its commitment to ensuring everyone has access to sufficient food, despite the current economic challenges.
Aliyu Abdullahi, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, shared this during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Monday.
He emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made food security a top priority for his administration, recognizing its importance in reducing poverty and boosting the economy. Since Tinubu took office in May 2023, the government has introduced initiatives aimed at securing the nation’s food supply.
The Minister highlighted Tinubu’s vision of a Nigeria where no one goes to bed hungry, stating that the government is fully committed to achieving this goal. He explained that food security is central to the Renewed Hope Agenda and plays a key role in fighting poverty, supporting economic growth, and promoting gender equality.
“President Tinubu deeply cares about the food situation in Nigeria. He often says his dream is for a country where no one sleeps hungry. We are working tirelessly to turn that vision into reality,” Abdullahi concluded.
