I spent eight years working as a bus conductor,” says Ibrahim Chatta

Actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Chatta recently took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the challenging early years of his career. He spoke candidly about his struggles as a bus conductor, a job he held for eight years, during an interview on Biola Bayo’s Talk to B podcast.

Chatta shared how he once lived in a tiny room with nine other people, describing how difficult life was in such cramped conditions. The lack of space made everything harder, but he remained determined to make a living and push forward.

In his quest to support himself, Chatta would often walk long distances, sometimes traveling from Agege to Ikeja. Despite the hardships, he remained focused on his goal of building a better future for himself.

He went on to explain how he eventually became a bus conductor, a job he worked for nearly a decade. Chatta recalled the grueling routine of moving between buses in busy areas like Iyan Oba and Oshodi, acknowledging the physical and emotional toll it took.

Despite these struggles, Chatta expressed immense gratitude for the journey he’s had. He recognized how far he’s come through sheer hard work and dedication, knowing that every step of the way has contributed to his success.

Looking back, he humbly prayed that God would bless his efforts, acknowledging the challenges he faced and the determination it took to overcome them. “I’ve worked so hard in life, and I pray that God crowns my efforts,” he said, reflecting on his long and rewarding journey.
