PDP cautions APC amid rising support for Oyetola’s 2026 election bid
The Osun State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sort out its internal problems before choosing a candidate for the 2026 governorship election.
This advice follows calls for former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to contest in the upcoming election.
Speaking with The Punch, Oladele Bamiji, the PDP’s Media and Publicity Director, stressed the importance of the APC resolving its internal conflicts before focusing on challenging Governor Ademola Adeleke.
“We are ready for whoever they present, but we suggest they get their house in order first. The decision lies with the voters.
“Osun residents are paying attention, and they will make their choice once again. The APC should work on reducing confusion within their party and prepare for the election with focus and unity.”
According to Famzigist, a group on Wednesday encouraged Oyetola to run in the next Osun governorship race, believing his candidacy could help prevent further crises within the APC.
Oyetola previously won the 2018 Osun governorship election, defeating PDP’s Ademola Adeleke. However, he lost his reelection bid to Adeleke in 2022.
