Man United players receive a warning from Ruben Amorim prior to his debut match

New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has sent a strong message to his players, stating he’s ready to make tough decisions as he gears up for his debut match against Ipswich Town on Sunday.

The 39-year-old Portuguese coach took charge of the team during the international break, stepping in for Erik ten Hag.

Amorim faces a significant challenge: turning around a struggling team currently sitting in 12th place in the Premier League standings.

Though his approach since arriving from Sporting Lisbon has been calm and friendly, Amorim emphasized that he won’t tolerate individualism within the squad.

“If the team works together, I can be the nicest guy,” Amorim said in a pre-match interview. “But if someone is only focused on themselves, I’ll be a very different person. My ruthlessness will show in the smallest details when it’s time to work.”

Amorim, widely recognized for his tactical expertise and nurturing young talent during his time at Sporting, is optimistic about the potential within United’s current roster and academy.

“This project is about Manchester United,” he said. “Young academy players are key to connecting with the club’s legacy and staying within financial fair play guidelines. They add something unique to the team.”

With no opportunity to make new signings until the January transfer window, Amorim is focused on quickly implementing the strategies that made him successful in Portugal.
