Raphinha surprises Yamal with a custom £10k gold iPhone in honor of his Kopa Trophy victory
Barcelona forward Raphinha has surprised his 17-year-old teammate, Lamine Yamal, with a custom-made £10,000 iPhone in recognition of Yamal’s Kopa Trophy win.
Inspired by Lionel Messi’s famous gesture after Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory, when he gifted gold iPhones to his teammates, Raphinha chose to celebrate Yamal’s achievements in a similar fashion.
Yamal has had an extraordinary season, earning the Kopa Trophy as the best under-21 player in the world. He was also named the Young Player of the Tournament at Euro 2024, helping Spain secure the title, and claimed La Liga’s Under-21 Player of the Year award for the 2023/24 season.
The teenage sensation also holds the record as the youngest-ever La Liga champion, having received a medal at just 15 years old for his role in Barcelona’s 2022/23 title win.
Raphinha, who is one of Barcelona’s five captains under new manager Hansi Flick, gifted Yamal the gold iPhone, designed by I Design Gold, to mark his rapid rise in football.
This season, Raphinha has impressed with 12 goals and 10 assists in 17 appearances, while Yamal continues to shine with six goals and eight assists in 16 games across La Liga and the Champions League.
