Veekee James shares her experience of crossing paths with her abusive ex-boyfriend while out spreading the word of Christ
Fashion designer Veekee James recently opened up about how she met her abusive ex-boyfriend during a time when she was actively involved in evangelism, sharing her faith and winning souls for Christ.
She spoke about this experience in an online interview with Pastor Bolaji Idowu of Harvesters, giving insight into how a relationship that started with her church work turned into something painful.
According to Veekee, she encountered her ex-boyfriend while she was out doing the work of the church, focused on bringing people closer to Christ. Initially, he seemed supportive of her beliefs and values, going along with her mission and showing interest in what mattered to her.
However, after a few months, things began to change. Veekee explained that he slowly started influencing her in ways that conflicted with her faith and the person she wanted to be. It was a gradual shift that left her feeling distanced from her values and her sense of self.
Over time, he began introducing her to a different lifestyle, which included going to clubs, something she hadn’t been interested in before.
Along with that, she stopped attending church, feeling pulled away from her spiritual practices and community.
Eventually, this relationship took an even darker turn. Veekee shared that her ex-boyfriend became abusive, turning what started as a seemingly supportive relationship into one filled with pain and emotional harm.
Through this experience, she highlighted how easy it can be to lose oneself in a toxic relationship that starts with subtle changes.
