After being arrested at Seme border, Bobrisky was transferred to FCID and spent the night in custody
Bobrisky, a popular and controversial crossdresser, whose real name is Okuneye Idris, has been detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State. He was reportedly arrested by officers from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while attempting to leave the country through the Seme border. He is currently being held at the FCID after spending the night in detention.
A source revealed that Bobrisky was transferred to the FCID for safekeeping following his arrest. According to the source, he was brought to the FCID late on Monday night after being detained by immigration officials. Further instructions regarding his case are still being awaited by the authorities.
The source added that Bobrisky was arrested on Sunday and taken to the FCID, Alagbon, around 10 p.m. on Monday night. He remains in detention at the FCID as the authorities continue to handle the situation.
The spokesperson for the FCID in Lagos, Mayegun Aminat, confirmed Bobrisky’s detention during a conversation with a correspondent on Tuesday. She stated that Bobrisky is being held at the FCID and that the department is seeking a remand order to keep him in custody.
In addition, the spokesperson for the NIS, Kenneth Udo, issued a statement on Monday evening explaining that Bobrisky is a person of interest due to recent issues of public concern. His attempt to leave the country prompted the NIS to take action and intercept him at the Seme border.
Udo further stated that Bobrisky is currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The NIS also assured the public that it will continue to carry out its duty of protecting the nation’s borders with professionalism and civility.
