VeryDarkMan Launches NGO to Improve Public Education
Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has launched an NGO focused on improving the country’s public education system by involving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.
In a message on social media, Otse spoke about his worries regarding the declining quality of Nigeria’s education. He compared it to a time when education was more engaging, with young and energetic teachers inspiring students. He blamed the current lack of enthusiasm among students on the fact that most teachers are now older and less dynamic.
Otse pointed out that young students look up to role models, and without positive ones in schools, they could be drawn into negative activities like cultism. His plan is to place intelligent NYSC members in public schools to make learning fun and exciting again through activities that stimulate the students’ minds.
However, Otse acknowledged that he doesn’t have the resources to pay these NYSC members himself. To support the project, he plans to set up a donation system through his NGO, promising full transparency on how the money is spent.
He emphasized the importance of early education and how public schools need younger teachers to rekindle students’ interest in learning. He also stressed the need for public involvement, as the government is not addressing the problem effectively. Otse asked for financial contributions, assuring that every donation, no matter the amount, would be appreciated and publicly accounted for.
In conclusion, Otse stated that his goal is to improve the education system for the betterment of future generations, appealing for support to help bring his vision to life.
