Why Kwankwaso Says APC Is Working Against the Poor Masses
In a statement on Thursday, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), criticized the current government led by President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He claimed that the APC is harming the poor and predicted that they will be voted out of office in 2027 because they will not change their ways.
Kwankwaso said Nigerians, especially those in the north, are tired of the hardships under Tinubu’s government and won’t tolerate it beyond 2027. He made these remarks while welcoming a large group of former APC members who switched to the NNPP at his home in Kano.
He emphasized that people are fed up with the APC, which he says has abandoned its mission to help the poor. According to Kwankwaso, the party has failed to address rising poverty and insecurity, and the public will push for change in the next elections, despite any attempts by the government to use security forces or manipulate the electoral process.
Kwankwaso also noted that many people from APC strongholds in local areas such as Dala, Kiru, Gwale, and Dawakin Tofa are now joining the NNPP, signaling a major shift in political support.
