IK Ogbonna Urges Government Action on Fake Miracles in Churches

Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has raised concerns about fake miracles in churches, urging the Nigerian government and religious leaders to address this issue.

He spoke out after noticing troubling trends on social media, particularly regarding the Lord’s Chosen church and its questionable testimonies.

In a detailed Instagram post, Ogbonna asked pastors to reconsider their actions and reminded Christians that genuine miracles are not based on deceit.

He said, “Fake miracles are undermining Christianity. It’s painful to see pastors deceive and exploit people with false miracles, which tarnishes the true meaning of Christianity and turns faith into a show for personal gain. This leads to broken trust, lost lives, and faith being used for profit.

Pastors, it’s time to rethink your actions—using God’s name to deceive is a betrayal of the gospel. To those who have been deceived, remember that true miracles are not based on lies.

We should also be wary of social media trends that mock our faith. Christianity should not be used just for likes or viral fame.

I urge the government and organizations like the Christian Association of Nigeria to take action, regulate these practices, and hold wrongdoers accountable. Christianity is about truth, love, and humility, not fraud and deception. Let’s work together to preserve the integrity of our faith.”
