Diddy Arrested After Grand Jury Indictment Shakes the Music Industry
Famous American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested by federal agents on Monday night at a hotel in Manhattan, New York.
The arrest came after a grand jury indictment, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Combs has been under investigation for nearly a year following allegations made by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a civil lawsuit, which led to around 10 more cases being filed. Combs has consistently denied all accusations.
Though prosecutors haven’t yet revealed the specific charges, Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, criticized the U.S. Attorney’s Office, saying they are unfairly targeting him.
Agnifilo also mentioned that Combs had traveled to New York voluntarily, knowing the charges were coming.
“We are disappointed by the decision to pursue what we believe to be an unjust case against Mr. Combs. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music legend, a self-made businessman, a devoted family man, and a philanthropist who has spent three decades building his empire, caring for his children, and supporting the Black community,” Agnifilo said.
He further added, “While he is not perfect, Mr. Combs is not a criminal. He has fully cooperated with the investigation and even moved to New York ahead of the charges. Please hold off on making judgments until all the facts are clear. He is innocent and looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
