Eniola Badmus Shares Her Thoughts on Nigeria’s Economic Growth
Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus recently shared her thoughts on Nigeria’s economic progress, specifically regarding the import and export sectors. She posted her insights on Instagram, reflecting on the changes under the current administration compared to the previous one.
Badmus, who now holds the position of Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, emphasized the significance of these economic shifts.
As a vocal supporter of the Tinubu administration, she explained that Nigeria’s imports are decreasing while exports are rising.
According to her, this trend signals that the country’s economy is expanding. She sees this as a positive development and a sign of progress.
Badmus shared specific figures to support her point. She revealed that so far in 2024, Nigeria’s imports have amounted to N24.44 trillion, while exports have reached N38.59 trillion. This difference has resulted in a trade surplus of over N14 trillion in just eight months.
She went on to describe this as an unprecedented achievement in Nigeria’s economic history. For Badmus, the country is moving away from being primarily consumption-driven and shifting towards production, which she considers a refreshing and much-needed change.
