Why Atiku Believes Tinubu Is Unprepared for Nigeria’s Problems

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized the current APC administration led by President Bola Tinubu, saying that if they still haven’t understood the extent of Nigerians’ suffering by now, it shows they were unprepared for governance from the start.

Atiku, speaking through his Media Adviser Paul Ibe, expressed frustration that the government had to wait for public protests to recognize the serious issues facing the country. He pointed out that the administration was elected to address the challenges that existed, and many mistakes were made under former President Buhari.

He highlighted that the economy faced two recessions under the previous APC government due to poor economic management, widespread nepotism, and corruption. According to Atiku, the current administration has only made things worse, with issues from Buhari’s time now being even more severe.

Atiku questioned how the cost of basic food items could decrease when insecurity keeps farmers from working. He also criticized the handling of the Dangote Refinery, noting that despite the previous administration’s $20 billion investment, there are still unresolved issues with meeting domestic needs and generating foreign exchange through exports.

He expressed disappointment that there seems to be no sign of this government being prepared to address the country’s problems effectively.
