Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Overcome Present Pains

President Bola Tinubu has asked Nigerians to be patient with his administration, promising that better times are ahead.

In a video released by the State House on August 7, 2024, Tinubu recognized the difficulties people are facing due to the removal of fuel subsidies. He also acknowledged that the delay in implementing his plans made things worse for Nigerians.

Tinubu said, “I know this period is tough, but I encourage you to look beyond the current challenges and focus on the bigger picture. We have plans in place that will help us, and I am confident they will work. The delay between removing the subsidies and our plans taking effect was unfortunate.”

He assured that the actions his government is taking will help resolve the ongoing economic problems and asked Nigerians to trust in his leadership.

He continued, “Please have faith in our efforts and concern for your well-being. We will overcome these challenges, and the measures we’ve introduced will better prepare Nigeria for the future.

“For instance, we will make education more affordable and provide loans to students who need them, ensuring no student has to drop out of higher education due to financial reasons.

“Our goal is to benefit the largest number of people. We will stay true to this promise, and I assure you, we are moving from difficult times to a new, hopeful future. Now, I need to focus on making this vision a reality.”

This is the second time President Tinubu has addressed the nation amid ongoing tensions in some regions.
