Portable’s Controversial Protest Remarks Result in 100,000 Follower Loss

Street pop singer Habeeb Olalomi, better known as Portable, has faced significant backlash recently. He lost 100,000 followers on Instagram within hours after making controversial remarks about ongoing protests in the country.

In a video circulating online, Portable stated that there were no protests occurring in his area, Sango, Ogun State.

He mentioned that past demonstrations had been ignored by the government, which led him and others in his community to focus on their daily work instead.

His comments did not resonate well with many of his fans. Within 12 hours of posting the video, Portable experienced a dramatic drop in his Instagram following. Reports from a popular blog indicate that he lost 100,000 followers in a very short period.

Many fans had previously warned they would unfollow him if he made such statements, and many followed through on their promises.

The backlash was swift and substantial, with many others vowing to unfollow him if he continued to make controversial remarks.

Portable had also stirred controversy with another video where he compared himself to billionaire Aliko Dangote and dismissed protests as activities only for the poor. This comparison further fueled the negative reaction from his followers.

Portable’s recent statements have significantly affected his social media presence and public image, highlighting the impact of controversial opinions on celebrity status.
